The Founders’ Award is given in recognition of outstanding leadership in the industry of children’s education, tireless advocacy on the behalf of children, and landmark quality and consistency in the representation of the Kiddie Academy brand. The award was developed to honor the legacy of George and Pauline Miller, founders of the company.
“It is a privilege to receive such an award that’s given in memory of the Millers,” says Mrs. Harper. “Pauline Miller was a part of my story from the beginning as a franchise owner. She was the first to welcome me when I opened my academy sixteen years ago, and I’ll never forget how much it meant to me when she told me that she was proud to have me in the Kiddie Academy family. Kiddie Academy really is a family. Her encouragement and support in my early years and the ongoing support that I still receive are big parts of my success as a franchise owner, and I’m honored to receive this award.”
Margaret Harper has long been a champion of the Kiddie Academy brand. She opened her first academy in Oxon Hill, Maryland in 1997 and her second location in Laurel, Maryland in 2006. For Mrs. Harper, early childhood education and provision of quality services for young children is, and always has been more than a business venture – but rather a calling. Her academies have consistently delivered high quality educationally-focused child care to thousands of children.
